LUCKNOW: You will be able to make digital payments at all shops and counters of Charbagh railway station in the next six months by using payment apps or debit, credit cards.
Northern Railway authorities on Thursday decided to make POS machines available to all vendors and shopkeepers for bill payments with an objective to make Charbagh ‘a fully digital railway station’.
They will also be told to install payment apps on their smartphones. The drive will start next week.
At present, POS machines are available at few ticket counters and shops for payments through cards, but now efforts will be made to ensure that all vendors adopt digital payment system, said divisional railway manager, Sanjay Tripathi.
He said that teams have been set up for visiting every counter and shop to inspect whether the POS machines are working or not. All ticket counters and vendors will be told to promote and prefer digital transactions.
